Welcome Mat

Welcome to Lamp on a Stand, a blog designed to shine the light of Christ from my house to yours through written testimony, devotionals, bible teaching, and words of encouragement.
If you have come here to read by lamp light, expect to encounter topics relating to biblical womanhood, church life and pastoral family life, marriage, parenting, and women’s ministry.
Weekly Schedule

In general, I work better when life is a little more structured.  Lamp on a Stand is no different, and I hope to post some of my weekly entries on the following schedule:

Mondays:

“I learned it from my husband.” a regular tribute to my husband’s effort to fulfill his role in my sanctification process as described in Ephesians 5:25-26 “…cleansing her by the washing of water with the word.”  You can read more about this here.

Tuesdays:

“Submission Recognition” a weekly posting on the topic of submission.  Join me every Tuesday as I work to expand our understanding of a commonly misunderstood calling on every Christian’s life.

Wednesdays and Thursdays:

Variety days, including shout outs to other bloggers and what I’m learning from them, Bible study reflections, devotional posts for pastor’s wives, reactions to recent happenings, and mommy adventures.

Fridays:

“Fun Fridays” This is exactly what it sounds like it is: a fun post.  A light-hearted post about absolutely nothing, a joke, an idea for a date night, a funny picture of my son, etc.
Weekends:

Often nothing, but occasionally expect reflections on a song we are singing in our worship service or Sunday’s sermon.  This is also a time to expect changes to the layout of my page, so if applicable, please excuse the construction!

If you are feeling blessed by the content of this blog and would like to read more by lamp light, I’d love to see your face on my bright, shiny, and new Twitter and Facebook pages.  Join me there for up-to-date lamp news and posts that are hot off the press!
